The KIDS FIRST program provides intensive, medically-directed early intervention care for children from birth to 5 years of age. Eligibility for this daily program of stimulation, therapy and medical oversight is based on the "at-risk" medical status of the child.

Each KIDS FIRST Clinic operates under the direction of a medical director with the usual staffing, including a center director, secretary, degreed early childhood specialists, child development aides, a registered nurse, a special educator, a social worker and occupational, physical and speech therapists. Continuing education relevant to parenting and children's health is provided for parents, staff and the community. The Primary Care Physician must approve all KIDS FIRST services.

Frequent communication between the clinic and local PCPs promotes continuity of care for all KIDS FIRST patients.
