Pediatric fractures include breaks to one or more of the bones of the arms, legs or torso and often involves injury to the growth plate in children.

Luckily, treatment for pediatric fractures often only involves immobilizing the injured area with a brace or a cast while the bone heals because of kids inherent ability to heal and remodel their bones.
In some cases, surgery may be needed to realign bones so that they heal properly. At Arkansas Children’s, this is done is a way that respects the growth plate by one of our pediatric trained specialists.
