GEM Study

Study Overview

The GEM Study is seeking participants who are pregnant with a single baby and are less than 20 weeks along. If you are at least 18 years old, have a BMI over 25, and have access to a smartphone or reliable internet, you may qualify for our study. Researchers at the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center are studying how everyday health habits during pregnancy may influence maternal health. The study will explore how simple health monitoring tools and lifestyle factors relate to health during pregnancy.

What to Expect

Participants will attend approximately 5 study visits at the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center during
pregnancy.

Study Visits

During the study, participants may be asked to:

• Complete short health and lifestyle questionnaires
• Use simple health monitoring tools at home
• Access nutrition education materials using a smartphone or smart device
• Allow researchers to collect health information during pregnancy
• Participate in routine measurements and assessments related to maternal health
• Each visit may vary in length depending on study activities.

Study Compensation

As a thank you for your time and commitment participants may receive $300.
