Dr. Joseph Elser is a board-certified pediatrician at Arkansas Children's Pine Bluff Clinic, where he brings more than four decades of experience caring for children across Arkansas.

Dr. Elser earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Westminster College in Missouri before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in pediatrics at UAMS/Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Over a career spanning more than three decades at Arkansas Children's Hospital and UAMS, Dr. Elser served as Division Chief of General Pediatrics and Medical Director of the Pediatric Headache Clinic for nearly 30 years. He has contributed to the field through peer-reviewed research, national clinical trials, and presentations to medical audiences across the country.

Dr. Elser has been recognized multiple times among the best doctors in America and is a multiple recipient of the UAMS Red Sash Teaching Award, selected by graduating medical students for outstanding faculty instruction. He is a member of the American Headache Society, the Academic Pediatric Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Arkansas Medical Society.

A father of six, Dr. Elser brings a personal understanding of parenthood to every patient encounter. He takes great pride in caring for patients across the spectrum, from routine well visits to children managing debilitating headaches, and considers the relationships he builds with patients and families the most meaningful part of his work.
