We take safety seriously.

We have implemented several safeguards to ensure the highest level of safety for your child and our patients. We want to make sure you know what to expect upon your visit to any of our facilities.

We are following social distancing guidelines in all areas, including waiting rooms. We have installed social distancing markers at each entrance and some clinical spaces. You may see this in the form of social distancing dots or red tape labeled 6 feet. Also, in our waiting areas and clinics, signs are being used to block off seats to practice social distancing or you may notice furniture has been removed/rearranged to provide adequate spacing.
There will be limited entrances open to help manage appropriate screening and masking procedures. Click here to see which entrances are currently open.
At Arkansas Children’s, we use a 10-step cleaning process with a disinfectant effective against COVID-19 and other viruses. We give extra attention to high-touch surface areas, including light switches, sink faucets, and restrooms. We are cleaning all kiosks, common areas and patient rooms in use multiple times per day using medical-grade cleaning and sanitizing products.
Physicians, nurses and staff are wearing personal protective equipment (masks, gowns and gloves) in an abundance of caution and in effort to keep our patients and families as safe as possible. All team members at Arkansas Children’s are required to wear a mask. You may notice staff wearing homemade masks or paper masks. Arkansas Children’s follows the guidelines published by the CDC. Remember, wearing PPE or masks helps protect against the spread of COVID-19 as well as other illnesses.

Questions about your appointment?

Our continued approach to serving patients and families.

In an effort to keep all visitors and team members safe, we are taking a phased approach for reactivating our clinical services. Our outpatient clinics are in the process of resuming our clinical services either through in-person visits or through telehealth visits.

We know you may have questions before visiting us. That's why we've set up a 24/7 hotline for patients and families. Call us at 1-800-743-3616 to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about our policies, any upcoming appointments, or COVID-19.
Medically necessary surgical procedures resumed Monday, April 27. Members of our team are reaching out to families on an individual basis to reschedule procedures. A 5-week plan ramp up plan staged on medical necessity and proper social distancing and safety protocols has been established. Per the Arkansas Department of Health directive, any patient undergoing a scheduled procedure is required to undergo a pre-operative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the procedure. We have set up a drive-thru pre-operative testing site for patients with upcoming surgical procedures.
Our outpatient clinics are in the process of resuming our clinical services either through in-person visits or through telehealth visit. A member of our team will reach out to you if you had an appointment that was postponed. If you would like to reschedule your appointment, please call us at 501-364-4000 (ACH) or 479-725-6995 (ACNW).

Our emergency departments have been and still are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Why is a pediatric emergency room different?

  • Pediatric experts. Your child will receive care from doctors, nurses, radiologists, technicians, and more who have received extra training specifically for treating children. Child-life and Education specialists are on-hand to help kids feel less stressed or fearful about tests and procedures.
  • Fast Access. Not only does your family have fast access to the pediatric experts in the ER, the ER staff also has immediate access, when needed, to the pediatric specialists at Arkansas Children's.
  • Kid-sized care. We specialize in kids and they come in all shapes and sizes. From the tiniest babies to adult-sized teens, we have the right-sized equipment and care for every child.
  • Peace of Mind. You will have peace of mind knowing that your precious child is receiving the best care for everything from bumps and bruises to serious illness.
As always, we are taking new patient appointments through both in-person and telehealth visits. To schedule an appointment, call us at 501-364-4000.
